Vaccinations

A comprehensive vaccination plan safeguards your dog against illnesses, ensuring their well-being.

Vaccines are an important tool that we have to protect your dog against preventable diseases that can be life-threatening or fatal. They are the simplest, safest and most effective way to protect your dog. All dogs have different lifestyles, health status, travel habits and risk factors, so we tailor our vaccines to your dog. We also have to keep in mind that vaccines not only keep our pets healthy but our family as well. Diseases such as rabies or leptospirosis can be transmitted to humans.

What types of vaccinations do you offer for adult dogs?

There are a variety of vaccines at our disposal. We have “core vaccines” that are important for dogs with all lifestyles and “non-core” vaccines that we use if we feel the lifestyle of the dog warrants it. Core vaccines include Rabies and “DA2PPV” vaccine which protects from Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvovirus, Hepatitis, and Parainfluenza. We also have vaccines available for Lyme Disease, Bordetella (Kennel Cough) and Leptospirosis if we feel the dog will be at risk for these diseases.

Is there a schedule for how often to vaccinate a dog?

Puppies require a series of vaccinations usually at 8, 12 and 16 weeks of age. Vaccinations need to be boosted again 1 year later and then every 1-3 years depending on the type of vaccination given.

Why is it important to vaccinate your dog?

Vaccinations are key to disease prevention. Vaccinations are an easy way to protect your pet from many serious diseases including ones that can be transmitted to humans. Talk to your veterinary healthcare team member to discuss what your pet should be vaccinated against.

How much do dog vaccinations cost?
